I am Joanne Ketch (Montgomery). I am a 41 year old mother of 3 kids. This spring, I will be attending graduate school so that I may acquire my Masters of Social Work.
For the last 10 years, in addition to full time mothering, homeschooling, owning and operating a daycare and educating children in addition to my own, I have assisted families (mostly women) in adopting a firm, non punitive family style.
My paid for work background includes restaurant management, office management for a company that underwrote small business administration loans and management consulting to small, privately held companies.
I have 2 college degrees. One in English (with Honors) and one in Business. In spite of the English degree, I am prone to typos and inconsistent proofreading. I’m good at *words* and thoughts, not details.
In the early years of parenting, I happily used attachment parenting. In spite of nay-sayers, my children are weaned, sleep in their own beds, can separate from me, walk and talk. They are disciplined and a pleasure to be around.
I teach discipline classes. I teach a mix of positive discipline for a secular crowd and Grace Based Discipline for a Christian crowd.
I am a recovering alcoholic, a Christian and a recovering feminist.
I have personal experience with virtual single parenting, actual single parenting, parenting in recovery from addiction, recovering from an abusive dynamic, intentionally creating the best step parenting and new marriage situation. I have researched, observed and assisted in a wide variety of parenting and life challenges.
