This reminds me of my co-worker asking me "If you daughter isn't getting any testing than how do you know if she is learning?"

Well geez, I spend all day with her; I guess I'd know!

I completely agree with what you have written about socialization, or socializing. HS'ers do learn to deal with people. When my dd was confronted by a bully at Family Camp she calmy told him "If you think you are better than us than maybe you should play by yourself." and went about her business. The other kids were astounded. DD believes that all adults AND children should behave in a humane and respectful manner.

Where did she learn to handle bullies? By hanging out with homeschoolers and people of all ages.

Heres an off thought although it sounds as if the officer was just being noisy-- at OUR skatepark (which btw, is CLOSED to school aged children while the public school is in session) anytime a child is injured where blood is present, a report must be filed. Its an insurance thing.

That's silly of him, being a cop, he can easily get your drivers' license number. They just want to harass.

How annoying! But I think you handled it well. I would have likely stumbled all over myself.
